The Municipality of Chinhoyi successfully conducted the 4th Quarter Budget Performance Review outreach meeting with Ward 8 residents at Chaedza Hall in Coldstream, creating a platform for direct engagement between Council and the community.

During the meeting, residents acknowledged positive improvements in water supply, highlighting progress made in stabilizing water delivery in the area. However, residents also raised strong concerns over the deteriorating road conditions, especially in residential and access roads, which they said are affecting daily movement and transport costs.

In addition, some residents expressed dissatisfaction with rising utility bills, questioning the cost structure and affordability under the current economic environment.

In response, Council officials provided a detailed explanation on factors contributing to cost increases, including operational expenses, infrastructure maintenance requirements, and service delivery costs. Council also took note of all complaints raised and assured residents that key issues, particularly road rehabilitation and service cost reviews, are under active consideration.

Council further encouraged residents to continue paying their municipal bills, emphasizing that revenue collection is critical for sustaining service delivery, maintaining infrastructure, and implementing ongoing development projects across the municipality.

The Municipality of Chinhoyi remains committed to transparency, community engagement, and improving service delivery through continuous dialogue with residents.
