It has come to our attention that some tombstones are being erected at council cemeteries, especially at Chemagamba Cemetery, without following proper procedures.

Please be advised that NO tombstone erections shall be carried out at council cemeteries without first visiting the relevant council office. This will curb the risk of placing tombstones on wrong graves.

All those with reserved graves at Chemagamba Cemetery are advised to visit the A/Parks and Cemeteries Manager for updating of records from now until December 2025. Failure to do so will result in the graves being repossessed by council. You are also reminded to come and pay for the reserved grave fee annually, $5 per grave per year.

Thank you for your usual cooperation.
