The Municipality of Chinhoyi is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Mr. Biriat Tasarira as the substantive Town Clerk, effective 9 February 2026. The appointment was confirmed by His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Owen Charuza, together with Councilors and Municipal Management, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance service delivery to residents.
Mr. Tasarira joins the Municipality with more than 10 years of experience in local government administration. He has served in different senior roles within the public sector, most recently as the Chief Executive Officer for Mutoko Rural District Council, where he contributed significantly to institutional management, service coordination, and community development programmes.
He holds strong academic credentials, including a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Management (Midlands State University), a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Administration (University of Zimbabwe), and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (UNISA). He is also currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law, further strengthening his governance and legal expertise.
This appointment marks an important step in positioning the Municipality to deliver efficient services, strengthen governance systems, and support sustainable urban development in Chinhoyi. Mr. Tasarira is expected to play a key role in driving the Municipality’s strategic development agenda and improving service delivery standards.
The Municipality of Chinhoyi warmly welcomes Mr. Tasarira and looks forward to his leadership in advancing growth, professionalism, and innovation within the local authority.
