The Municipality of Chinhoyi, in partnership with Gender Links Zimbabwe, held a Scaling Gender-Responsive Budgeting Capacity-Building Workshop at the Municipal Chambers. The workshop focused on strengthening the integration of gender considerations into local government budgeting and resource allocation processes.
Participants explored gender mainstreaming in local governance, gender-responsive budgeting tools, expenditure tracking and practical approaches to promoting inclusive service delivery.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to review the Council's 2026 Budget from a gender-responsive perspective, identify gaps and challenges, and develop practical action points.
The initiative reflects the Municipality's commitment to advancing gender equality and ensuring that municipal resources address the diverse needs of the community.
