The Municipality of Chinhoyi is pleased to announce that the 2026 Municipal Budget has been officially approved by the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, in accordance with Section 47 (1) of the Public Finance Management Act [Chapter 22:19].
The approved budget outlines key financial priorities aimed at stabilizing operations and improving service delivery across the municipality. As part of the implementation plan, the Municipality will prioritize the clearance of salary arrears during the first quarter of 2026, reinforcing its commitment to staff welfare and institutional stability.
In addition, Council will strengthen the use of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to improve efficiency in revenue generation, billing accuracy, and revenue collection processes. This move is expected to enhance financial transparency, accountability, and operational performance.
The Municipality remains committed to delivering services that meet residents’ expectations and improve the quality of life in Chinhoyi. Achieving these goals requires strong cooperation between Council and residents.
Residents are therefore encouraged to pay municipal bills on time, as consistent revenue collection is essential for maintaining infrastructure, delivering essential services, and supporting ongoing development projects.
